Columbia's Famously Hot Etsy Team Newsletter 1-30-11

Hello Everyone!

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend!

Our team is still growing!  We’re up to 153 members!  Welcome everyone!  We all look forward to working with you!

Alright, on to the list of business topics to cover:

  1. Free Local Shipping/Pickup-

We’ve had a few more people offer free shipping/pickup/delivery!  New additions are marked in italics and bold.  Here’s the complete list:

Let me know if you would like to be added to the list!

  1. Sandhills Craft Fair Update-

Our First Team Craft Fair will be held on May 7th (the Saturday before Mother’s Day) at the Village at Sandhills.  How exciting!!!

If you would be interested in participating in this event please contact Joyce at littlelordmars@yahoo.com for details on how to pay for your spot.  She needs to receive all checks or money orders by February 1st.  The cost per spot is $25.

  1. Local Sales Opportunity-

Michele, from Haute Interiors, LLC has discovered another local sales opportunity:

“Towana Allen who owns the Avon  shop on Sparkleberry Ext. in NE Columbia rents out some of her space.

I have used space to hold home decor events there myself.

She strives to help small businesses and network together.

Her charges are $10/hr per person.  Or, 3 hours/$25.  Maximum of 3 people at a time.  They can have 2 long rectangular tables each to display and sell merchandise on.

Each person would be responsible for marketing their own event/time there.  But, as a bonus, she does send out an email to all her Avon contacts to let them know details of the events that are held there.

Her contact info and address just in case crafters want to drop by to check the place out:

Towana Allen
1061 Sparkleberry Lane Ext
Suite D
Columbia SC 29223

803.699.8327

Regular Store Hours:
Closed Sun & Mon
Tues-Wed 11 am - 6 pm
Thurs-Fri 11 am - 7 pm
Sat - 10 - 4

Sometimes she will stay open longer to accommodate people when an event is there, but this is discussed when setting up the rental.”

Thank you Michele for letting us know about this opportunity!

  1. Opportunity for Dress Maker-

“I'm fascinated by patterns for the '40s and '50s and would like to have some dresses made. I'm looking for someone who can do custom work, as I'm short-waisted, knock-kneed, cross-eyed ... Not really, but I'm not a willowy model, so I'm sure the patterns will need adjusting. “

If you are interested in this opportunity please check out the forum here:

  1. Team Alchemy Requests-

As many of you may or may not know, Etsy’ Alchemy function is ending next week.  Therefore, I have started a forum for our own alchemy request:

If you have an item that you would like a team member to make you can post it here.  Also, if you are a seller and offer custom items, you can also post it there as well.
